Kemp Sails has been granted the long term licence to operate the Hood brand in the UK and parts of Europe from this week. Due to increasing operating cost in Lymington the USA owners decided to close the loft. Kemps felt that this was bad for the UK sailmaking industry and the existing Hood customers hence our proposal to run both brands from their new and improved loft in Wareham near Poole in Dorset.

Kemps have for some time employed past Hood staff, most notably sail designer and production manager Mark Woodford Hoods, who has over 25 years of Hood experience.
