Insurers are offering a deterrent reward for stolen lugger
Insurers Newton Crum are offering a reward of two thousand pounds (sterling) for information leading to the return of a stolen Drascombe Lugger.
The lugger, number 999, was stolen from Bewl Water, near Lamberhurst Kent.
Newton Crum say they are making the reward – which is almost 50 per cent of the value of the boat – in a bid to make it difficult for thieves to sell stolen craft. They hope other insurers will follow suit.
Anyone chasing the reward can call, in confidence, 01424 718811.
