Sunsail is moving its winter only base in the Canary Islands from Gran Canaria to Lanzarote, and plans to operate its sea school there on a year-round basis from May of this year.

The new facility in Lanzarote will be based at Marina Rubicón and clients on Sunsail’s week long RYA courses will be sailing around the island’s west coast. Just four hours flying time from London, the Canaries offer good conditions in which to learn to sail or improve sailing skills.

Sunsail is operating its Canaries Sea School on a year-round basis due to demand for its RYA Courses and the desire of more and more people to gain their sailing qualifications in more open sea conditions, with sunshine almost always guaranteed.

With Sunsail’s team of RYA instructors based in Lanzarote, clients will be able to undertake RYA Day Skipper and Competent Crew courses and also gain experience towards part of their Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster courses in preparation for the exams which are held in the UK. The yachts will also be available for skippered charter.

The price for Sunsail’s week long RYA courses in Lanzarote is £695 per person, including return flights and transfers.

Sunsail also has sea schools in Portsmouth in Hampshire, Largs in Scotland, Lelystad in Holland, Phuket in Thailand, Cape Town in South Africa and the Whitsunday Islands in Australia.
