Mike Slade’s sailing team Ocean Marine have today announced ambitions for their new super-maxi build to become the fastest charter yacht on the planet.

Influenced by the record breaking Volvo 70 design, the predecessor to the team’s current 98ftLeopard of London(pictured),Leopard 3will be launched in June 2007, and plans are already underway for a late 2008 attempt at sailing non-stop, round-the-world in under 80 days.

The yacht is currently under construction in Sydney. She will measure some 24 feet wide, 100 feet long, has an 18-and-a-half foot, a 15 foot fixed bowsprit and a 154 foot high mast. She will weigh in at approximately 36.5 tonnes.
