First conviction of its kind in UK
A jet-skier has been fined £500 for harassing a school of dolphins. Nicol Wood, 22, admitted driving his machine recklessly close to the mammals in the Moray Firth, Scotland.
Banff Sheriff Court heard how Wood slowed down and splashed the water trying to attract the beasts before driving around them in circles, churning up a wash.
The conviction is the first of its kind in Britain.
