Berrimilla, rolled and dismasted on way home from Sydney-Hobart
The 33ft sloop Berrimilla, on her way home from the Sydney-Hobart Race rolled through 360 degrees and was dismasted 50 miles from Eden on the New South Wales coast of Australia.
Her four crew issued a Mayday following the roll in 60 knot winds.
Skipper Alex Whitworth built the Brolga 33 in 1977 and was featured in Yachting Monthly in March 2006 when Alex told us how he sailed 32,000 round the world, two-handed in less than a year in order to compete in the Fastnet Race the Sydnay Hobart races.
