Ronald McDonald gets behind Olympics
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and hamburger chain McDonald’s have announced in Beijing that the fast food giant has extended its global sponsorship agreement through the Games of the XXX Olympiad in 2012.
This marks the first time that McDonald’s has renewed its sponsorship for four consecutive Olympic Games.
IOC Marketing Commission Chairman Gerhard Heiberg added: “McDonald’s has long been a strong supporter of the Olympic Games. We are very pleased that McDonald’s will continue to serve Olympians well into the future, working with us to promote sport and inspire active lifestyles”.
Meanwhile in the UK the Government has been considering a ‘fat tax’ on junk food to try and combat growing obesity.
