Cowes Harbour Commission announce 4.5 million (sterling) development
Cowes Harbour Commission has announced a 4.5 million (sterling) investment into the further marine development at Shepards Wharf, Cowes and construction of a new boat storage and service centre at Kingston Wharf, East Cowes.
The development is part of the Commission’s ongoing strategic plan to increase marine services and yachting facilities in Cowes and maintain its claim as the ‘Home of World Yachting.’
Cowes Harbour Master and Chief Executive, Captain Stuart McIntosh, said the recent sale of the enabling land for a waterside residential development would help facilitate investment into marine infrastructure for the harbour. The aim of the Commission’s marine infrastructure investment is to provide additional walk ashore pontoonage and shore side marina facilities to meet the growing demands of visiting and local yachtsmen.
