East Coast plan given short shrift
A new independent report on the plan to build an airport on the Thames estuary has given the idea the thumbs down.
The report, by the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, warns the airport would not solve short-term air traffic problems and would take too long to build and be too costly.
Medway Council have branded the plan pie in the sky. East Coast boat owners have also opposed the plan, which have seen prime cruising grounds identified as potential airport sites.
