London Array, the world’s largest approved wind farm, has been announced as the main sponsor of Ramsgate Week.

The sponsorship allows the event to continue as one of the East Coast’s premier regattas. This year it runs from July 25-30 and includes the East Coast IRC Regional Championship.

London Array is a 245km² wind farm, currently being built around 20km off the Kent and Essex coast and due for completion by the end of 2012.

Construction manager, Thomas Bonnichsen, said: ‘Ramsgate is the home base for the construction, operations and maintenance of the wind farm and it gives us great pleasure to support this popular and family friendly event, which attracts people to Ramsgate from far and wide each year.’
