Olympic gold shines again
Olympic sailor Sarah Webb has been honoured yet again by the Queen, receiving an OBE in the 2009 New Year Honours list.
Webb who is already a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), has
now been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her
services to sport. She received this accolade as a result of her recent success at
the 2008 Beijing Olympics where she and her crew mates won a Gold medal in the
Yngling sailing class, repeating their success of Sydney in 2004.
As a Vice Patron of the Jubilee Sailing Trust since 2005 she has been a valuable supporter of the trust, representing the charity at events and also by taking part in challenges.This year she is undertaking a sponsored skydive where she will be raising at least £500 for the JST.
