The Skandia Ocean Row team have experienced some blustery weather, with southerly winds of up to 45 knots. Around lunchtime yesterday, the crew took a decision to batten down the hatches and rest for a few hours, until the weather improves.
The crew is well and are using the time wisely by getting some much-needed rest.
As of 2000 Monday evening, the team had covered a total of 779 miles, meaning that they are now well on the way to the half-way point mark, which they should reach just after the weekend.
Until Thursday morning, the team will continue to face strong winds from the south, but will try to keep the boat on course. Should conditions worsen, the crew may deploy the sea anchor.
