Pudsey Bear will visit the Hamble on Saturday 5 September between 0930hrs and 1600hrs. The bear with his band of accompanying pirates will be actively collecting money from passing vessels for the charity Children in Need.

Yachtsmen from Hamble River Sailing Club will assist in the collection of cash from unsuspecting mariners. Also in attendance will be other vessels including television crews.

Hamble Harbour Master Tony Clatworthy has entered the spirit of the occasion with a special Notice to Mariners:

If you wish to appear on television why not be seen giving a donation in a novel way.

Mariners are requested to give generously to this very good cause.

All mariners should maintain an efficient lookout and navigate with caution.

VHF Channel 68 will be monitored by Harbour Authority, Police launches and other vessels assisting.
