The RYA continues to try and get Coast Station reports in the Shipping Forecasts
The Royal Yachting Association is still trying to persuade the BBC to have the Coast Station reports reinstated to the noon and early evening Shipping Forecasts.
It has a powerful ally in the Search and Rescue Committee, which agrees with the RYA that dropping the coastal reports has ‘seriously degraded’ safety.
‘This is an ongoing argument, but we hope there will be a positive result,’ said the RYA’s Cruising Secretary, Robin Sjoberg.
The decision to drop the Coast Station reports is up for review at the end of the year.
