£160,000 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey stolen
Cu Na Mara, a 2001 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey which was based in Gibraltar was discovered stolen from its marina berth on the 27th April 2009.
The yacht mysteriously disappeared during the week preceding, some time after the 23rd April 2009 with two men on board. The mystery deepened when these same two individuals were rescued off Almeria on the 25th April 2009 by the Spanish lifeboat and towed into port.
One of the individuals was taken to hospital with a hand injury.
A day later the yacht disappeared and has not been seen since. The two men were both in their thirties and carrying an Irish and a UK passport. One however had a German name and it appears they communicated in German. The yacht was damaged from earlier winter storms and was awaiting repairs to the hull and deck.
The yacht valued at some £160,000 is still missing and the UK Insurers are offering a reward for its recovery.
