One day left to buy Queen's boat
Internet auction buyers in the market for a royal yacht have only one day left if they want to buyBloodhound. The 12 metre class yacht, built in 1936 by Camper and Nicholson, has been on the auction site for 27 days, at a price of £890,000. Sadly, there does not appear to be many takers.
She was the most sucessful pre and post war racing yacht built. She was owned by HM Queen Elizibeth and HRH Duke of Edinburgh throughout the Sixties during which time she acted as a personal racer / cruiser and training vessel.
Her present owner completed a massive four year rebuild / restoration in 2007 which was described byClassic Boatmagazine as Immaculate and byBoat Internationalas outstanding.
Her purchase price was recently reduced to reflect the current marketplace but Bloodhound must still represent a blue chip investment. The owner has another project awaiting so must sell with all realistic offers considered, including viable part exchange on any type of boat or property.
