Marina berths and second homes for Brits despoiling costas
A staggering 116 marinas creating berths for 40,000 yachts have been approved by Spanish authorities around the country’s coastline. The ‘building frenzy’ of marina berths and second homes is poisoning the sea, a study by Greenpeace has found.
The report identifies 286 ‘black spots’ along Spain’s 5,000 mile coastline where development is causing pollution.
The Balearic and Canary Islands also come in for criticism.
