Motor-boat madness lands skipper with £4,000 plus bill
Powerboat skipper Nicholas Gill, 26, was left with a £4,328 court bill for hitting a pontoon on the Hamble while speeding at more than 25 knots in the dark.
Fareham magistrates fined Gill, of Sarisbury Green, £800 with £1,147 costs and £2,381 compensation for damage.
His 21 foot motorboat wrote off the pontoon and caused further damage. He admitted failing to report the collision, failing to proceed at a safe speed and failing to navigate with due care and caution.
