Veteran lifeboat to be restored
A rowing lifeboat built in 1918 and which saved 16 lives off Whitby, Yorkshire is to be restored.
The Whitby lifeboat house is being demolished and a modern shed put up in its place.
While the work is being carried out the old lifeboat will be housed and worked on in a museum which exhibits the exploits of Whitby’s most famous mariner – Captain James Cook.
