A new exhibition traces the development of yachting in the Western Solent over 300 years
St. Barbe Museum in Lymington is holding an exhibition of paintings, engravings and prints which trace the development of yachting in the Western Solent during the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries.
Leading international match race yachtsman, Chris Law, will open ‘Yachting on the Solent’ and the show will be open to the public from 10 July to 29 August. Famous yachts and famous races are featured, particularly the big class racing in the Solent in the early years of this century.
