Showtime bonanza
Key Yachting exhibited the Comet 33 and the Comet 41S (both on show for the first time in the UK) and J-UK had a record breaking line-up of J Boats the J/80, the J/92 S, the J/100, the J/122 and the J/133 were all on the pool) and the J/124 and the J/109 were ashore on the stand. The J/24 was also on show in Earls Court 2. The show felt really good for us. I think it’s fair to say that it was relatively quiet with regards to visitor numbers but we felt that the ‘quality’ of visitors to the Earls Court Boat Show was excellent. We spoke to good number of serious buyers and that’s always a positive thing.
The atmosphere at Earls Court was superb – it felt like a proper show! We were able to exhibit all of our boats with their rigs up and we had a prime position on the pool by the main stage. Father Christmas abseiled in from the roof every day, there was ice skating, a dive tank, photo galleries, celebrities, competitions, an Oyster Bar, the Guinness Bar, and a bunch of young boys (who didn’t seem able to pull their baggy trousers up properly) were doing wake boarding displays in a specially constructed ‘tank’.
