24 boats brave hailstorms to attend RYA event
Twenty-four sail and power-boats braved the erratic weather this weekend to attend the RYA’s latest Sail and Power muster in Cowes. A mix of on-shore events and on-the-water demonstrations meant that all who attended left eager to try out their newly acquired skills.
Shoreside events included whipping and splicing masterclasses, while, afloat, mariners had the opportunity to improve their boat-handling – and even try their hand at powerboating.
Graham Dindol, who had attended the event having left his boat back in Brighton due to bad weather took full advantage of the boat handling sessions: “I wouldn’t normally sail in these types of weather conditions so being able to go out with an experienced skipper has given me the confidence and some useful advice to do so.”
