New models of the famous Westerly cruising boats are to be produced in Ljubljana, Slovenia – the northern sector of the former Yugoslavia.

Two American tycoons acquired the Westerly brand, moulds, tooling and all tradmark rights in 2000. Now they’ve signed a deal with Balkans-based New System Yachts to design and build the new boats.

The first models are to be a 35 ft ocean cruiser and a 35 ft club racer which are expected to be built later this year.
