Tens of thousands of Brent geese have arrived in the Thames Estuary from Siberia where cases of avian flu have been reported.

The geese arrive every winter to feed on the eel grass which grows on the tidal banks of the Thames.

They are protected, but could face culling if they prove to be infected.
