Vote for what film is shown
The world’s first sail-in cinema is being launched on the Friday of this year’s Cowes Week.
Regatta sponsor Talisker is erecting a 10.5m x 5.5m (34ft x 18ft) screen off Cowes Esplanade (pictured) to show a film at 1900 on August 12.
The film will be chosen after a public vote on three sailing-related, if a little perilous, movies.
To cast your vote for Jaws, The Perfect Storm or Master and Commander; The Far Side of the World visit the Cowes Week or Talisker Facebook page or email admin@aamcowesweek.co.uk with Talisker Cinema in the subject heading. Voting closes at 1700 on Wednesday July 6.
The film’s audio will be provided by Cowes Radio on 87.7FM, meaning the viewing will be open to all yachts in the Solent on that evening.
Talisker’s brand manager, Juliet McInnes, said: ‘We are really excited about bringing this unique experience to the world’s best-known sailing event.
‘We are delighted to bring a popular film to the Cowes audience to help celebrate the end to a remarkable week of sailing.’
