Fishing boat disappears into the Falmouth night
A 40ft yacht has been struck by another boat, believed to be a fishing boat, as it sat on its mooring in Falmouth Harbour (pictured).
The MCA has launched an investigation into the collision, which happened at around 2300 last night and damaged the rigging and engine.
The boat, called Melodrama, needed to be towed ashore by the Falmouth lifeboat.
A coastguard spokesman said: ‘Fortunately the yacht was not holed but the other vessel would not have known that.
‘It’s hard to believe how anyone could leave another vessel like that without knowing what condition it was in.’
