Yachting Monthly has encouraged hundreds of people to tackle the cruise of their dreams through our Long Term Cruising Symposiums. On Saturday 15 January, 2000, in partnership with Blue Water Rallies, we are offering a one-day seminar on long-distance cruising.

Blue Water Rallies runs the Blue Water Round the World Cruising Rally, Rally Antigua and the Biscay Triangle. Having previously organised the Trade Winds Round the World Cruising Rally, Peter Seymour and Tony Diment share a wealth of experiene on the subject.

The day’s programme will include in-depth discussions with an expert panel (including Nigel Calder, YM’s Peter Nielsen, plus Dick Allan, who sailed round the world in a 33ft yacht). It will cover the human factors (severing the ties, choosing crew and staying in touch with home), safety, equipment, route planning, budgeting, health and bureaucracy.

The entry fee for the all-day seminar is £70 (£120 for a couple). It includes complimentary tickets to London Boat Show plus an information pack.
