Drascombe Coaster
In 1979, Drascombe put a cuddy onto its highly successful 21ft yawl-rigged
Longboat daysailer to give her weekending accommodation. She proved
popular for her simplicity and economical price. The accommodation
is pretty basic, but there is space for two to camp out with rudimentary
cooking and chemical heads facilities. A cockpit tent can create two more
berths for family sailing. The loose-footed, gunter yawl rig is not very
effi cient but she is fun, if not fast, with a big cockpit. About 270 have been
built to date, by various yards, including the current Drascombe franchisee,
Churchouse Boats.
